Click to see the back. :::: Click to see the front. Like most Chicanos, Cesar Chavez is one of my greatest influences. I remember clearly being so impacted by his story as recounted in the Chicano Power documentary, that I looked at myself in the mirror for several minutes afterwards and wondered if I could ever be like him. "I guess you don't have to be loud and over-bearing to be a great leader," I thought to myself. The artwork on the left side is "no te dejes" by Jose Ramirez, 2000. The caricature on the back is taken from a newletter distributed to farmworkers called Don Sotaco and Dolores Huerta is the person holding up the "Huelga" sign. Orlando Lara <<back |
